The China International Import Expo (CIIE), held in Shanghai from November 5 to 10, highlighted China’s commitment to high-standard opening up. In this episode of The Hub, Wang Guan hosted a pivotal roundtable, “Experts’ Views on World Openness,” at the 8th Hongqiao Forum, examining its key outcomes. The panel featured Zhu Min, former deputy managing director of the IMF; Kishore Mahbubani, a veteran diplomat and former Singaporean permanent representative to the UN; Hamid Rashid, a former head of the UN Global Economic Monitoring Branch; and Zhang Yuyan, an academic at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. Together, they discussed how China’s expanding openness can foster global cooperation, drive innovation, and sustain growth amid mounting economic challenges.
